The Death of Movies From Using 3D

How 3D is killing Hollywood

"3-D(three-dimensional) film is a motion picture that enhances the illusion of depth perception"
Using 3-D in movies is used to enhance the viewing experience for people. I am not against movies that uses the 3-D aspect. However, not every movie needs to be in 3-D. This is the new trend in the movie industry and Hollywood is exploiting it. Is it really necessary to have every new film as well as re-releases of films to be in 3-D? Take for example, the Star Wars trilogy. Why would Lucas do this? To follow what everyone is doing and making money off of gullible people. Why would people and especially the dedicated fans pay $13.50 to see these movies again?
The thing that gets me the most and I know that I am not alone is that most of the time, theaters have both options at different showtimes. What if you could not make it in time to view the regular version of the film? Since you are already there at the theater, you might as well go purchase a ticket to the 3-D version of the film.
I viewed two movies in 3-D and that included Toy Story 3 and the Avengers. I saw the Avengers in 3-D because of what I mentioned above. I viewed Toy Story 3 in 3-D because it was the first movie that I saw in 3-D. I enjoyed the 3-D and it was mostly due to Pixar implementing 3-D the correct way. The Avengers in 3-D was a totally different story. Half way through the movie, I took my glasses off because certain scenes did not look good in 3-D. The other reason I took my glasses off was because the 3-D was starting to hurt my eyes. The price, the poorly use of 3-D and the further damage to the human eyes are reasons why 3-D is killing the movie industry and those who enjoy attending the movie theater.
3-D can work well for some movies but most of the time, the producers of the film just use this new trend to grab more money from your wallet.

Joe said it best, "3D movies= Muddy Vision Syndrome!"

Who Else Will Fall Victom to Disney's Empire

Will Disney purchase Hasbro?

Those who have fallen victom to Disney
  • Walt Disney Pictures
  • Disneynature
  • Touchstone Pictures
  • Marvel Studios
  • Lucasfilm

  • According to a story published by MTV Geek,
"These are still just discussions at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry."

This is currently a rumor but MTV has said there are reputable sources reporting on this discussion
Will the acquisition of Hasbro benefit Disney and the customers? Will the fans accept that Disney has the rights to Transformers, G.I. Joe, Dungeons and Dragons, Beyblade, Battleship, Nerf, and Magic: The Gathering as well as many other game titles and IP?

With the acquisition of Marvel and Star Wars, Disney has the entire entertainment of the male group. This is so different from years ago when Disney was always criticized for only appealing to the entire family and especially young children. The transition is hard to grasp for many people as huge mix feelings has emerged with Disney's purchase of LucasFlim.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of Disney acquiring Hasbro?

Will Disney be able to have success with these flims as they had did with Marvel films (aka. The Avengers)?
